Business Manager

The First Congregational Church of Nantucket is seeking a proactive and organized Part-Time Business Manager to oversee the operational, leasing, event, and facilities management activities of the church. This position is distinct from the Office Administrator role and focuses on strategic oversight of property, event logistics, tenant relations, and facility use.
This individual will work closely with the Sexton, Buildings & Grounds Committee, Wedding coordinators, and tenants, and will act as a key administrator for non-ministerial, non-financial aspects of church operations.
Qualifications include: Experience in facilities, property, or business operations management, excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, familiarity with contract and lease administration, experience working with vendors and coordinating projects are preferred. Applicants must be comfortable working collaboratively in a faith-based, nonprofit setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; scheduling or database systems experience is a plus.
Position includes 10–20 hours per week with flexibility based on church calendar and seasonal demands. Hours are primarily weekday hours, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Compensation is commensurate with experience starting at $35/hour.
